FutsalRVA Event Rules, Protocols, and Procedures
FutsalRVA is consistently working with U Turn as well as the Governor's protocol and will adjust accordingly if needed. Please see U-Turn Covid Updates, U-Turn Covid Resources and U-Turn Facility Map and Signage for further information.
As a reminder, adhering to the protocols will require a collaborative effort from the club, coach, player and parent. Following the guidelines will allow all members to return to practice in a safe environment that minimizes the risk for all involved. Please notify your coach and keep your child at home if:
Your child has a temperature equal to or above 100.4 F
Your child has close contact with sick individual or anyone with confirmed case of COVID-19
Your child has a documented case of COVID-19 in the last 14 days
Your child is not feeling well or showing symptoms of COVID-19
Your child has just returned from a place that require a 2 weeks quarantine upon returning
Game Rules/Modifications
2x20 minute halves
Game to finish within the hour or before regardless.
Teams DO NOT switch benches or sides at half time.
For kick-ins, players should place the ball with their foot & coaches should display leniency in the ‘ball moving’ rule. (In-house games only)
GK’s are the only player(s) allowed to touch the ball with their hands during a match.
Coaches will work together to referee the games (unless licensed referee in attendance) and keep in mind the objective of the games. (In-house games only)
No handshakes allowed pre or post-match, or during celebrations.
All other futsal rules apply as normal.
Upon Arrival/Departure
Players must wear a mask when arriving/departing the facility.
Players will be permitted to enter the facility 10 minutes before their assigned match time to allow for sanitation and cleaning to occur between matches.
Coaches will be required to wear masks at all times.
Temperature checks will take place upon arrival for all coaches & players. Any coach or player with a temperature greater than or equal to 100.4 degrees will not be allowed to participate.
Hand sanitizers & soap will be available on site for cleaning. All players & coaches are encouraged to wash their hands and disinfect with hand sanitizers frequently.
Other Recommendations & Club Responsibilities
Avoid touching your face.
Frequently wash hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
Cover mouth and nose (with arm or elbow, not hands) when coughing or sneezing and wash hands afterward.
Frequently clean commonly used surfaces or equipment (doorknobs, chairs, balls, goals, benches) with an antiseptic cleanser.
Maintain social distancing (6 ft) when not actively playing in a match. Benches and/or chairs will be set to allow for social distancing requirements.
Any equipment used by a coach should be touched only by the coach.
Parents are NOT allowed in the facility at this time.
Restrooms should be used on an emergency only basis.

Symptoms of COVID-19 Infection
Individuals with COVID-19 can exhibit symptoms ranging from mild to life threatening. The most common symptoms associated with infection include:
Fever ( ≥100.4 degrees F)
Cough
Shortness of breath
Less common symptoms that may still be evidence of COVID-19 infection include:
Sore throat
Congestion
Nausea and vomiting
Diarrhea
Headache
Muscle / joint pain
Sudden loss of taste or smell
Chills
Prior to attending a FutsalRVA event, each player should check his or her temperature at home, and refrain from participation if he or she has a fever (≥100.4 degrees F).
By attending a FutsalRVA event, (this includes practices, game nights, festivals, tournaments and friendlies) families are confirming that each participant:
has not had any close contact with a sick individual or anyone with a confirmed case of COVID-19.
has not had a documented case of COVID-19 in the last 14 days.
is not currently demonstrating or suffering from any ill symptoms (listed above).
