HISTORY

Since its beginning in 2007, FutsalRVA, founded by Greg Simmonds and Joe Farrell, has been one of the largest and progressive youth futsal organizations in the United States. In 2019, the FutsalRVA Winter league had over 210 teams with over 2000 players participating, making it one of the largest youth futsal leagues in the country.  

In January of 2010, FutsalRVA was chosen as one 8 organizations to host the first Mid-Atlantic Regional Futsal Tournament with 32 teams participating. The Regional tournament is a qualifier for the United States Youth Futsal National tournament and boasts quality competition from the south east and beyond. In 2019 FutsalRVA managed to expand to over more than 120 teams participating in their Mid-Atlantic Regional tournament.

FutsalRVA also boasts a very successful year round academy program with over 300 youth player training on a near weekly basis, developing their skills within a quality training model while implementing these skills by participating in tournaments, festivals, in house games and leagues.  This model was used to create the National Academy program within USYF that over 20 academies across the country use to grow the game of futsal in the United States.

FutsalRVA’s Academy, League and tournaments features teams in every age group and gender from U8 through High School. Their high-quality officiating, fair and balanced competition, superior facilities and outstanding service has kept coaches, players and parents returning to play year after year. FutsalRVA promotes sportsmanship, respect, and hard work while teaching the technical, tactical, physical and psychological components of the game. FutsaRVA has always strived to achieve the highest level of professionalism, leadership and guidance to ensure the best possible experience for all participants.

MISSION

Our mission is to promote the game of Futsal as a player development initiative.

Futsal RVA specializes in the promotion and education of the sport of Futsal through training programs and the organization of leagues and tournaments at a time when the game is starting to gain recognition as important to the development of the soccer player in the United States.

FutsalRVA recognizes that the introduction of a Futsal program can impact positively in the key areas of player development in all levels and ages.
